I often us stock by *SenshiStock
as references for my drawings, so when I saw that she was having a contest ([link]
.) I knew I HAD to enter, busy or not! The challenge for the contest was to draw something relating to ourselves or our perception of ourselves. Life has thrown a lot of nasty curveballs at me here lately (it LOVES doing that doesn't it?) and some of the hard decisions that I've been having to make gave me the inspiration.
This painting isn't necessarily about good versus evil. If everything was black and white, life would be a whole lot easier! This is more about those times when we're forced into making a decision where there is no good option either because we're just so deeply conflicted, or because picking either side means denying part of who we are.
That's what I've been going through lately in a nutshell, but I hope it's something that you guys can also relate to. Thanks to `faestock
for the beautiful reference photo! [link]
